It was a huge success, and I still have my 45 rpm record.
Still have it in its original sleeve!!! I feel privileged to be able to write that I new the Beatles before they were famous. They played at various small venues around Liverpool. The entrance to these clubs was just a few shillings, and there in front of us was playing what was to become one of the most famous groups on the world,,, I am often asked did I get their autographs,, or took their photograph,, the answer is NO,, because they were not famous then, they where just four ordinary young guys making music,.
Where does it say different? Fay seeing or knowing them during their Skiffle period is high history. Nice that you shared this story with us. Are you in same age like them? Do you probably have a photo of those days? Thanks for the article. I only wish we could turn the clock back 2 those great years the beatles Gave 2 us. There music will live for ever. A groupie from the past. Thank you for the music and everything else.
I walked this spot with my daughter, granddaughter and grandson just this past June. I was visiting from the U. Also visited Liverpool and The Cavern. BTW… Paul is out of sync. He is also barefoot. It was hyped that he was supposedly dead! We went to Abbey Road and I was surprised to see it was just a street — like every other street. I had built it up to be so much more.
Yes, is just a street that because of the their fame, the album and the photo, the spot became a landmark! Paul is in sync hes left handed so hes stepping with his left foot. I remember the first time I heard I want to hold your hand…I said how lame these guys are…how lame I was!!
This image seems to encapsulate the atmosphere of these times, sunny summer days and the future looked like an endless road of creative possibilities — there was a real vibe in the air that changes were about to come. Shortly after the shoot, McCartney studied the transparencies and chose the only one where all four Beatles were walking in time.
It also satisfied The Beatles' desire for the world to see them walking away from the studios they had spent so much of the last seven years inside. The largest purpose-built recording studio in the world, we take a brief look at the history of the legendary Studio One. Once devoted purely to the recording of classical music, this space has now played host to the scores of some of Hollywood's biggest blockbuster movies, including the Harry Potter, Star Wars and Lord Of The Rings series.
How an elegant sixteen-room, three-story town house built in changed the course of music history forever, the ripples of which are still unquestionably strong, inspiring and infectious. It saw the Chicago rapper teaming up with a piece all-female string orchestra for an ambitious concert that featured expanded and reimagined takes of his biggest tracks of the time, and may be one of the most well-known instances of hip hop and classical music coming together.
Interviews Studios. Ashcroft produced the album with regular collaborator Chris Potter, as well as with Wil Malone who provided the string arrangements which were recorded at Abbey NewMusic Studios.
